Referrals

Referrals can be via:
  • Consultants
  • GPs
  • Physiotherapists
  • Health Professionals
  • Self Referral

An Orthotic referral form is available to medical staff should they choose to use this rather than send a letter, alternatively as a referrer/patient please fill out the following form.

Note: Insurance claims commonly require the support of a clinician's letter.

For a referral, please click here and fill out our online form.

Appointments

Appointments will be provided promptly with sufficient time being allocated: allowing for a full initial Orthotic assessment to be given, with time to discuss the patient's needs. Once the Orthotic prescription has been agreed a secondary appointment will be given to issue the patient with their orthosis. A follow-up appointment is recommended, though this often depends on personal circumstances and the type of orthosis provided.

A map can be provided for your clinic location by clicking here.

Your first consultation will include a case history, physical examination, biomechanical assessment and prescription - as appropriate - for your required type of orthosis: -
  • Foot Orthoses
  • Made to measure footwear, including safety footwear
  • Modular footwear
  • Knee bracing
  • Spinal supports
  • Lower limb bracing/calipers
  • Upper limb bracing
  • Many other categories

Domiciliary visits (home visits) can be arranged, the cost of this is dependent on your location.

A charge of £15.00 will be levied if you do not attend your appointment, or if we are notified less than 24 hours before your appointment. This is to help cover room charges that would be incurred.

If you wish to proceed with the acquisition of an orthosis following your initial consultation a minimum deposit of £50 is required. This is purely to help in the cash flow whilst we procure the orthosis on your behalf.

Payment is accepted via cheque or all major credit cards.  Cheques should be made payable to Premier Orthotics Ltd.

Preparation for your examination

It is advised that you come prepared for an examination of your legs/body and wear shorts or appropriate attire.

Bringing an additional pair of shoes in case we need to further examine the wear pattern, or have to take the footwear as a point of reference or alteration.

If you wish to be chaperoned by another staff member please inform us beforehand, so that arrangements can be made.
